Making contacts in Kabul, Iranian President Ahmedinejad slammed US policies using the same accusations America throws at Iran.

Following his meeting with Afghan Head of State Hamid Karzai, Ahmedinejad answered questions at a press conference, where he responded to US Secretary of Defense Robert Gates' accusations against Tehran administration.

Gates had accused Iran of supporting Taliban, while establishing good relations with Afghan administration at the same time.

Speaking from Kabul, Ahmedinejad said "It is America that gave rise to terrorists, now they claim they are fighting against terrorists."

Stating that the international forces in Afghanistan are not the right option for lasting peace in the country, Ahmedinejad said the solution will come through the legitimate Afghan government's taking control in the country.

Ahmedinejad said they will always stand by the Afghan administration.
