Turkey’s top diplomat Ahmet Davutoğlu paid the first visit to Ireland at the level of foreign ministers after 19 years of diplomatic stagnation.
Irish Foreign Minister Martin said Ireland welcomed Turkey’s constructive initiatives to find peaceful solutions to problems in the region.
Upon a question of TRT Haber, Irish Minister said his country has overlapping perspectives with Turkey regarding the issues in the Middle East. Reminding the human tragedy and civilian suffering in the coastal strip of Gaza, Foreign Minister Martin said Ireland is against using cluster bombs, which causes collateral damage mostly on civilians.
